Owned by Dr. Don Utas for the past 17 years and specializing in laser dentistry for the past five, Meadowbrook Dental Laser Clinic is a unique practice in the area. Patients come from Chilliwack, Abbotsford, Lillooet, Mission and Hope.



The dental facilities are all designed to maximize patient comfort and reduce stress, particularly for children and for anyone who is normally fearful of the dentist. Children and adults are perfectly comfortable watching television while wearing headphones and controlling the remote during their procedures.

Dr. Don Dr. Don Utas received his Dental degree from the University of Saskatchewan 18 years ago and bought Meadowbrook Dental in Chilliwack a year later. As a lifelong learner, he has earned a Diploma of Technology at BCIT and a Bachelor of Education at Simon Fraser University and worked as a Park Ranger and a high school teacher before devoting his life to helping people through dentistry.


Dental Crowns Chilliwack

A crown or cap is a tooth fixture specifically built to re-establish to its original functioning the anatomical surfaces of a damaged or cracked tooth. Anatomical exteriors of a tooth are those segments that are visible above the periodontal line.

Ordinarily, crown restorations are only administered when there is a large portion of the tooth left to adhere to. The filling materials need adequate surface area to bond with the dentistry cements or the crowns will need frequent mending.

A tooth structure is prepared before a crown can be permanently glued on. This restorative process is typically a dentists favored treatment option since it creates a durable and lasting fixture with a high level of aesthetic appeal.

The most commonly used crowns are the ceramic jacket crown and the porcelain fused to metal crown. The ceramic fused to metal crowns are applied most frequently on posterior teeth due to the excellent strength and resilience that semi-precious metal can offer through biting and chewing actions. The veneer or facing of the crown is built of ceramic resources that provide the fixture an organic and natural look. The ceramic jacket crown is a slim metallic casing covered by layers of ceramic to complement the translucency and shadings of a natural tooth. This tooth fixture is typically only applied to anterior teeth.
